Stylist Valentina Taranina tells us that the most relevant now are women’s hats in the slavic style – these are the fur hats of our mothers and grandmothers. A fur coat, a hat like the heroine Nadenka from the cult film “The Irony of Fate, or With Easy Steam!” or like the mother of high school student Andrei Coat from the noisy series “The Word of a Patsan. Blood on the pavement”, a down fishnet scarf, and you’re on trend.

The slavic girl trend has really taken over the Internet, and the powerful wave of popularity was promoted not by Russian girls, but by Western bloggers. Women from all over the world are posting photos and videos on the internet wearing fur coats, fur hats, massive gold jewellery and sunglasses like from the noughties. All this is perfectly combined with spectacular make-up of a “cold woman”: a marble face with a bright blush on the cheeks, expressive eyebrows and eyelashes, transparent gloss on the lips.
The trend, having collected a full set of stereotypes about “rich Russian women”, turned out to be maximally exaggerated. At the same time, the image of a Slavic woman in a voluminous fur coat and a fluffy hat is associated with female strength, freedom and independence.
